I'm Dan MacDonald, a portrait and event photographer serving Calgary and its surrounding communities, including Cochrane, Airdrie, Didsbury, Strathmore, and Crossfield, as Purple House Photography.

My core services are portraiture - environmental, editorial, lifestyle, or studio, for corporate and personal use - and event coverage.  As a photographer, my mission is to establish a relaxed, fun environment where genuine expressions can come out, and to creatively preserve them. You’re not going to hear me tell anyone to “Say cheese”.

Since launching Purple House Photography in 2014, I've had the privilege of working with entrepreneurs and  energy companies, artists and engineers, new couples and large families, newborns and new graduates; to each of these opportunities, I've brought a dedication to collaboration, professionalism, fun, and honesty with an aim of making the most genuine and flattering images I can.
